Pasty


3/4 C Shortening
1/2 C Sugar
3 C Flour
Cold Water

3 lbs hamburger (raw)
5-6 russet potatoes (pealed and cubed)
Onion
Salt and Pepper

Mix shortening, sugar, and flour in a mixer, add cold water until dough sticks together
but not soggy. Divide the dough into 3 equal parts. Roll out each section until it is
about as thick as pie crust and put onto cookie sheet (one at a time)

Into each crust put in about 1 lb of hamburger topped with onion and salt and pepper,
add potatoes to the top of the oniona and salt and pepper again. Fold the crust around
the meat and potatoes and repeat the process with the other two sections of dough.

Bake at 350 for 45 min.

Potato Corn Chowder

1/3 C Butter
2 1/2 C Water
4 C Potatoes (cut up)
2/3 C Celery (diced)
3 Green onion or 1/3 C white onion chopped

Cook this together and simmer for 20 min

Make a white sauce:
6T Butter
6T Four
2 1/2 C Milk
add
1 1/2 tsp Dill weed
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
boil for 2 min
add to pot of cooked veggies and water
add
1 16 oz can of corn
2 C grated cheese
Heat through and serve.
Serves about 7

For a FHE I would tripple this recipe!
